That’s because the phone will not only allow you to make a receive landline phone calls. It will also allow you to send and receive text messages as well.

The IS6110 is compatible with MSN Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger. In order to use the phone’s instant messaging feature you simply connect it to you computer using a USB cable. Once you do this you don’t have to be in front of your computer to instant message someone. Also, unlike your mobile phone, it won’t cost you anything extra for unlimited instant messaging capability through your home phone.

As some people may have already realized, not all cordless phones are WiFi friendly. Considering its proximity to a computer, VTech made sure the IS6110 is. The phone includes a high-resolution color display, supports Caller ID and calling waiting and has a phonebook directory which stores 50 names and numbers. A voicemail waiting indicator and a jack for a 2.5mm headset is also included. For those wanting to personalize their phone, it will also support recordable ringtones.
